Govt to send workers to Qatar under G2G modality

KATHMANDU: The government has started discussions to send workers to Qatar through the government to government (G2G) process.

Officials at the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security informed that the government has already started groundwork to send Nepali workers to Qatar, especially for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, through the G2G model.

“We will soon discuss the issue with Qatar government through different diplomatic means,” informed the official.

For this, the government is also preparing to revisit the labor agreement with Qatar.

The move to send Nepali workers to Qatar through G2G means comes after some manpower companies started running illegal businesses by promising to recruit people in the police force of Qatar.
