Nepal’s Hospitality Sector Gears Up for Major Hotel Expo–2026 During HAN Diamond Jubilee

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s hospitality sector is preparing for a major industry event as the Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) announces the celebration of its 60th anniversary with a large-scale Hotel Expo–2026, scheduled for Magh 2 and 3, 2082, in Kathmandu. The diamond jubilee will bring together hoteliers, tourism leaders, domestic and international experts, and hospitality stakeholders at a time when Nepal seeks stronger economic recovery through tourism and service-sector growth.

According to HAN, the diamond jubilee will highlight six decades of achievements, challenges, and emerging opportunities in Nepal’s tourism and hotel industry. The Association will also observe its annual Hospitality Day, which has been celebrated for the past two years.

Two-Day Expo to Showcase Over 50 Hospitality-Sector Exhibitors

The two-day Hotel Expo–2026 will feature more than 50 stalls displaying essential hotel supplies, equipment, and technologies. Several corporate houses and service providers are expected to participate as sponsors, reflecting growing commercial interest in Nepal’s expanding hotel and tourism market.

This year’s jubilee theme, “Tech-Powered Hospitality”, positions the event to focus heavily on innovation. HAN stated that renowned national and international speakers will discuss global best practices in service excellence, hotel automation, technology-driven business operations, and the rising integration of artificial intelligence in hospitality services.

New Publications to Promote Local Cuisine and Hotel Industry Data

During the event, HAN will unveil the Nepal Hotel Year Book 2026 along with a comprehensive Food Book documenting 60 varieties of traditional dishes from all seven provinces. These culinary showcases aim to elevate Nepal’s local food heritage and offer authentic hospitality experiences to both domestic and international guests attending the jubilee.

Contribution of Hospitality Sector in National Economy Highlighted

The diamond jubilee will also spotlight the hotel and tourism sector’s contribution to Nepal’s economy—particularly its role in foreign exchange generation, employment creation, and international branding of Nepal as a travel destination.

Industry leaders noted that the rapid growth of new hotels across Nepal and increasing entry of global chain brands have intensified competition while expanding Nepal’s visibility in the global tourism market. HAN believes the upcoming expo will help revive tourism across all provinces by strengthening supply chains, encouraging innovation, and boosting investor confidence.

Recognition for Industry Contributors

HAN further informed that individuals who have made significant contributions to Nepal’s hotel and tourism industry will be formally honored during the anniversary celebration. The Association has already issued a call to various partner organizations to join hands in making the diamond jubilee and Hotel Expo–2026 a national-level milestone event.
