KATHMANDU: Legendary Nepali climber Kami Rita Sherpa has once again etched his name deeper into mountaineering history after successfully summiting Mount Everest for a record 32nd time, further extending his own world record as the person with the highest number of ascents of the world’s tallest mountain.

According to Nepal-based expedition organizer Seven Summit Treks, the 55-year-old veteran climber reached the summit of Mount Everest at 10:12 AM on Sunday, marking another historic milestone in global adventure tourism and Himalayan climbing.

Kami Rita, widely recognized as one of the world’s most accomplished high-altitude mountaineers, had previously set the record with his 31st Everest summit in 2025. His latest ascent further cements Nepal’s position at the center of global mountaineering, adventure tourism, and extreme-altitude expeditions.

Often referred to internationally as the “Everest Man,” Kami Rita has been climbing Everest consistently since 1994, guiding international climbers and supporting expeditions on the mountain that attracts thousands of trekkers, mountaineers, and adventure travelers to Nepal every year.
