KATHMANDU: Nepal’s leading mobility platform, Pathao Nepal, has expanded its services beyond ride-sharing, parcel delivery, food delivery and home services by launching a new helicopter booking service, allowing users to reserve helicopter rides directly through a mobile app.
The company announced the launch of ‘Pathao Heli’ in partnership with Simrik Airlines, marking another step in Pathao Nepal’s evolution into a broader “super app” ecosystem.
With the new service, customers can now conveniently book helicopter flights either through the Pathao mobile app or via the dedicated Pathao Heli website, where pricing details and booking options are available.
According to the company, the service will initially cater to popular religious, adventure and tourism destinations, including Muktinath, Gosainkunda, Everest Base Camp (EBC), and Annapurna Base Camp (ABC).
Each helicopter will be able to accommodate four to five passengers per trip, making the service suitable for pilgrims, family tours, newly married couples seeking scenic travel experiences, and groups of friends looking to visit Nepal’s iconic destinations in a shorter period.
Pathao Nepal said the helicopter service aims to provide a more accessible and convenient travel option for both domestic and international travelers interested in experiencing Nepal’s mountain and spiritual tourism destinations.
“Our goal is to grow Nepal’s digital economy tenfold. We are moving forward by integrating mobility, parcel delivery, food delivery, and e-commerce into a single platform,” said Pathao Nepal Managing Director Yashu Thakali.
The company stated that the launch of Pathao Heli also aligns with the Government of Nepal’s vision for Nepal Tourism Year 2085 BS, which seeks to boost tourism arrivals and strengthen Nepal’s tourism ecosystem.
Originally launched as a ride-sharing platform, Pathao Nepal has rapidly diversified its offerings in recent years, positioning itself as a technology-driven platform for multiple everyday services. The addition of helicopter booking reflects growing efforts by digital mobility companies to tap into Nepal’s premium travel and tourism market, particularly for high-value mountain tourism and pilgrimage routes.
